Testosterone cypionate raises your testosterone level above what your body produces naturally, and everything else follows from that. Protein synthesis increases, so the protein you eat is used to build tissue rather than oxidised. Nitrogen retention improves, which keeps the muscle in a positive balance. Red blood cell production rises, which is why endurance and pumps improve before anything visible changes. Mood, libido and recovery all lift. It is the base compound in almost every cycle for that reason: it does not do one job, it makes every other compound work better.

It depends entirely on what you are doing. For genuine testosterone replacement, 200 mg a week is at the top of the normal range and puts most men above the middle of it. If you are running 500 mg a week, that is 1 ml on Monday and 1 ml on Thursday rather than 2 ml on Monday.
