How to Read an Anabolic Steroid Lab Report

A lab report is only useful if you can read it. Most people look at one number and stop. Here is what the rest of the page is telling you, using a real result from our own Dragon Pharma testing.

The Four Things That Matter

Label claim. What the manufacturer says the vial contains. On our Dragon Pharma Cypionate 250 test, 250 mg/ml.

Measured value. What the lab actually found: 277 mg/ml. (Cypionat 250 in this case)

The method. How the measurement was made. A report that does not state a method is a claim, not a test.

The batch. Which production run the sample came from. Without a batch, the result tells you nothing about the vial in your hand.

What Overfill Means

277 mg/ml against a 250 mg/ml label is an 11% overfill. That is normal and intentional: manufacturers dose slightly over so the vial still meets label after transfer loss. A correctly dosed product looks exactly like this.

The number to worry about is on the other side. A vial that tests at 210 mg/ml against a 250 mg/ml label is under dosed, and that is the direction counterfeiting tends to fail in, because underfilling is where the margin is.

What A Report Does Not Tell You

Identity and concentration are not the same as safety. A report does not cover sterility, endotoxins or the excipients. Read it as proof of what is in the vial, not as a clean bill of health for using it.

How To Check A Report Is Real

Look for a named laboratory, a report number and a date, and a batch that matches the vial you hold. If those four are present and consistent, the report is worth something. If any are missing, treat it as marketing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about lab test results.

What does 278 mg/ml against a 250 mg/ml label mean?

It is an 11% overfill, which is normal and intentional. Manufacturers dose slightly over so the vial still meets label after transfer loss.

Should I worry about an overfilled vial?

No. Under-dosing is the problem to worry about. A vial testing well below label is the sign of a bad product.

Does a lab report prove the product is safe to use?

No. It covers identity and concentration, not sterility, endotoxins or the excipients. Read it as proof of what is in the vial.
