Enantat 400

Enantat 400 is testosterone enanthate at 400 mg/mL in a 10 mL vial, so 4,000 mg of labelled ester. The enanthate ester is roughly 70 per cent testosterone by weight and the rest is the ester chain that controls release, which works out at about 280 mg of active hormone per millilitre, near 2,800 mg in the vial. The label states ester weight, not free testosterone, so 400 mg of enanthate carries slightly less active hormone than 400 mg of a short ester like propionate.

Concentration. There is 60 per cent more hormone in every millilitre, and the solvent needed to hold it in solution is what most people feel. A small volume of a strong solution irritates muscle more than a larger volume of a weaker one, and at this strength the depot can crystallise slightly where it is injected. Warming the vial in your hands for a minute before drawing, injecting slowly, splitting the volume across two sites and rotating sites all reduce it. Pain that is hot, spreading, or still there after a week is not normal soreness.

At 400 mg/mL the arithmetic is simple: 1 mL is 400 mg, 0.5 mL is 200 mg, 0.25 mL is 100 mg. Genuine replacement is 100 to 200 mg, so 0.25 to 0.5 mL a week. A first cycle is 300 to 500 mg, which is 0.75 to 1.25 mL. Intermediate and advanced cycles run 600 to 800 mg and beyond, and that is where the concentration earns its price: 800 mg is 2 mL here against 3.2 mL of a 250 mg/mL product.

Twice a week for anything above replacement. The enanthate ester has a half-life of about a week, so one weekly injection works, but it gives a peak a day or two after the shot and a trough before the next one. Monday and Thursday split that. At this concentration the split is easy, because both doses are small: half a millilitre in each is 400 mg a week, which will pass through a 27 gauge needle in most shoulders.

Two timelines, and confusing them is the usual mistake. Libido, mood, energy and sleep change within one to two weeks, because they respond to the hormone level rather than to tissue. Strength, pumps and visible size take four to six weeks, and blood levels are not steady until roughly five half-lives, so about five weeks. Judging it at week three is judging the ramp. The first signs most people notice are better morning erections, faster recovery between sessions and a fuller look across the shoulders.

The ester is identical, so the only question is volume against comfort. Take the 400 if your weekly dose is 600 mg or more: 800 mg is 2 mL instead of 3.2 mL, fewer millilitres, fewer sites, less oil. Take the 250 if you are running replacement doses, if this is your first cycle, or if you know you are sensitive to injection pain, because the lower concentration is gentler on tissue and easier to measure accurately at quarter-millilitre doses. At 350 to 500 mg a week, most people need either a low dose aromatase inhibitor or bloodwork at week six to decide: oestradiol, haematocrit, lipids and blood pressure. The propionate makes oestrogen rise sooner after each injection than a long ester would, so early bloodwork is more useful here than usual. For recovery, the cypionate and enanthate are the slow components, so wait two weeks after your last injection before starting a SERM, then run it for four weeks.

Upright at room temperature, ideally 20 to 25 C, in its box and out of direct light. Do not refrigerate or freeze it. A 400 mg/mL solution sits close to its solubility limit, so cold is exactly what makes it turn cloudy or throw crystals; if that happens, roll the vial between your palms or stand it in warm water until it clears, and never inject it while it is cloudy. Swab the stopper before every draw and use the vial within about two months of the first puncture.
